AI Developer

We are seeking an AI Developer to join BCB Medical and help build intelligent solutions that improve doctors’ daily work and enhance healthcare outcomes. In this role, you will work closely with other developers, product teams, and domain experts to implement AI-driven features using modern agentic architectures and retrieval-based methods.

The position is based in Turku or Espoo, and flexible hybrid work is also possible. Applicants must have the right to work in Finland without restriction.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Develop AI-powered features and assistants that support doctors in tasks such as data analysis, form completion, and workflow automation.

• Implement RAG-based workflows, prompt chains, and AI-powered agents based on product specifications and team designs.

• Build integrations between AI components and data sources such as clinical registers, forms, and knowledge bases.

• Collaborate with product managers and domain experts to understand user needs and translate them into concrete technical tasks.

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of AI pipelines, APIs, and supporting backend systems.

• Ensure that AI solutions meet requirements for accuracy, reliability, and compliance in healthcare environments.

• Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement of AI development practices.

• Stay up to date with advancements in applied AI and share insights with the team.

To Succeed in This Role, You Should Have:

• Experience working with LLMs (e.g., Azure OpenAI or similar).

• Experience building RAG pipelines, vector-based retrieval, or agent-style AI workflows.

• Practical skills in backend or integration development using Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar languages.

• Familiarity with working in environments where Java-based backend systems are part of the overall architecture.

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred).

• Ability to collaborate in a Scrum environment and contribute to shared team responsibility.

• Understanding of data privacy, secure development, and responsible AI practices.

Additional Skills We Value:

• Experience with Databricks or similar data engineering platforms.

• Knowledge of data lakes and large-scale data environments.

• Familiarity with healthcare IT systems, data models, or clinical workflows.

• Experience working with regulated data or sensitive data domains.
